The Problem

You want to add AI to your .NET app, but you do not know where to start.

Docs contradict each other. Models change every month. Demos look slick, but they don't match your stack. You don't know how it applies to your domain. You worry about latency and data security.

A week passes. You still don't have an AI feature in production. Just a demo.

Picture this. You import a messy CSV of transactions. The app detects the format. Descriptions are cleaned up by AI. Categories are suggested. You ask, "How much did we spend on subscriptions last quarter?" and you get a clear answer.

That is the moment where AI finally makes sense.

Who this is for (and who it's not)

This is for .NET developers who want to deliver an AI feature in production, not a playground. You prefer practical over theory. You want clarity over hype. You want ideas and inspiration.

If that is you, you are in the right place.

It's probably not for you if:

  • × You're looking for a fully beginner coding course.
  • × You expect magic "AI-in-a-box" templates without learning how they work.
  • × You can't commit at least 3 hours per week for 7 weeks.
  • × You'd rather watch videos passively than build something real.

Prerequisites

This cohort is for developers who:

  • Know how to use Git and build APIs
  • Have written server-side code with C#
  • Prefer learning by doing
  • Have a basic understanding of JavaScript and web development

The focus is on backend and AI. We'll scaffold the React UI, and even use AI to generate parts of it. So, you can stay in your backend comfort zone while still building a full-stack experience.

What you'll need

  • Your favourite IDE (Visual Studio, JetBrains Rider, VS Code, Cursor AI, etc.)
  • .NET 9
  • Docker (no Kubernetes needed)
  • Git and a GitHub.com account
  • An Azure account (expect ~5-10 € of usage)
  • Your preferred AI assistant (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)

No prior AI or machine learning experience needed. We'll cover everything from fundamentals to production deployment.

Hi, I'm Gui Ferreira, a .NET educator, Microsoft MVP, conference speaker, and course author at Dometrain. I've taught 5,000+ developers worldwide how to build simpler, more maintainable systems. From testing and architecture to AI integration. I've spoken at NDC and other leading developer conferences.

"I believe software should be powerful but simple, and this cohort reflects that philosophy. When you join, you're not just watching lessons. You're learning directly from me, with hands-on guidance and real-world use cases."

FAQ

How long will it take to complete the program?

The cohort runs for 7 weeks, from January 5 to mid-February 2026. Live sessions are Thursdays 5-6pm WET. Plan for 3-6 hours per week including recorded sessions and labs.

How much time per week?

3 to 6 hours, including sessions and labs.

What happens if I can't attend a live session?

No problem. All sessions are recorded and available within 24 hours. You can catch up asynchronously at your own pace.

Do I need Azure?

Yes for deployment. Local runs work without it.

I'm a complete beginner. Will this program be helpful for me?

This program is not an introductory course. While we cover fundamental AI concepts, you should be comfortable with .NET development. Beginners will find the pace too fast.

Can my company pay?

Yes. VAT invoices are supported.

What if I fall behind?

Office hours are designed for this. Plus, you keep access to all materials after the cohort ends.

What if I'm not satisfied?

Attend the first week, and if it's not for you, you get a full refund.

Will I need to pay for Azure services?

Azure offers free credits for new users, typically covering the entire cohort. Expected costs are €5-10 total if you exceed free tier limits. You may need to add a payment method, but actual charges should be minimal. Local development is possible for most exercises.

Do I need to be on camera during live sessions?

No. Live sessions are interactive but camera and microphone are optional. You can participate via chat and Q&A.
